Shalom Friends,
We had a great evening @ Chatsworth with Ezekiel Network last week! Moran Rosenblete was with us, and shared about the several worthy initiatives of his ministry organization - Hope4Israel. We had about 30 people attending. One point in his sharing that was very memorable was when he had one of us- Adrian-come to the front, and bring his Bible. Then he asked him to open it and read, but covered the guy's eyes. He asked "Can't you read it?" And of course Adrian could not because he was blinded; he had a veil over his eyes. Moran then said, "This is how it it with most all the Jewish people, as Paul said, "...until this day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their heart; but whenver someone turns to the LORD, the veil is taken away." (2 Corinthians 3:15-16).
Thus, to communicate the Gospel to Jewish people, we must do more than bring them words and books; we must demonstrate love, we must let the Word become flesh in us, we must become living letters. Tragically, so oftern in Christian history, Christians thought Jewish people were evil because they thought the Jews knew or know the truth about Yeshua the Messiah, but wilfully rejected Him. This fed Christian anti-Semitism. But it is not true that they have wilfully rejected him. Most simply have a veil on their eyes; they cannot see Yeshua for who He really is. Our task is to build bridges to them, and remove barriers through loving relationships, so they can see Him in us.
Tomorrow evening, May 12, we will meet as for our Tuesday evening Jewish Seeker's Bible Study, and we will story through Exodus 16. Paul F. and later Abby did a great job leading a few weeks ago. I (Bill) will lead tomorrow. Please join us and bring a Jewish friend!
Remember on May 26th (two weeks) we will celebrate the Feast of Shavuot (Weeks, Pentecost), by having Karen Wescott with us, who will do a one-woman dramatization of Ruth...plus dairly foods (cheese cakes) as is traditional. Do plan to come; you won't want to miss this!
Every blessing in Messiah!
